Depression
I help clients manage their depression. If you have a psychiatrist, with your permission, I will work with your doctor to help monitor your medication.
Depression can make it difficult to get out of bed in the morning. Clients with depression often lose interest in activities they used to enjoy. Sometimes depression can lead to unintended weight changes, either gain or loss. Many clients report feeling fatigued most of the time. They may struggle with feelings of worthlessness, have difficulty concentrating, or find it hard to make decisions. In severe cases, a person with depression may experience suicidal ideation or thoughts of death.
**If you or someone you know is expressing thoughts of self-harm, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.**
Once safety is established, a person with these symptoms can begin talk therapy to understand what is happening and learn strategies to feel better.
As a cognitive behavioral therapist, I help clients examine their self-talk to discover their internal dialogue. This awareness is essential, as our thoughts shape our feelings and ultimately influence our behaviors.
